Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account: your email address and display name.
• Trips: destinations, dates, itinerary items, saved places, flights, hotels, and expenses you enter.
• Messages: direct messages you send and receive, including trips you share in a chat.
• Location: your device location, only while you are using the app and only after you grant permission, to find places near you.

Your profile photo and your app preferences stay on your device. We never upload them.

How we use it

To provide the app: to store your trips, sync them across your devices, deliver your messages, show collaborators the trips you invited them to, and answer travel questions you ask in the app. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking across other companies' apps and websites.

Where it is stored

Your account and content are stored using Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), which processes data on our behalf. Your profile preferences and a cached copy of your data are also stored on your device.

Services we send requests to

When you search or view travel content, we send only the search terms needed to fulfil the request — such as a city name or travel dates — to:

• Google Places and Google Maps — places, photos, and map data
• Google Gemini — AI travel suggestions and answers
• Ticketmaster — local events
• Flight and hotel data providers — schedules, prices, and availability

We do not send your name, email address, or message content to these services.

Your controls

• Location: revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy → Location Services.
• Notifications: turn off in Profile → Notifications or in iOS Settings.
• Messages: delete individual messages, delete a conversation, or block a person.
• Deletion: Profile → Delete Account permanently deletes your account, trips, invitations, and messages. Abuse reports are retained so that a reported account cannot erase its own moderation history.

Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your data is deleted immediately, apart from the abuse reports noted above.

Children

Itinera is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will let you know in the app before the change takes effect.
